INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL

Thursday 15th September

The Individual Time Trial race setup will be in Piazza delle Donne Lavoratrici, 850m from the Race Village.

All bikes will be checked before each rider start.

Distance: 19.6 km

Start location: Piazza delle Donne Lavoratrici – Trento

Finish line: Piazza delle Donne Lavoratrici – Trento

Riders brief: 14th September, 2pm – Race Village

Starts will be given according to UCI age groups as of 9am, with 30 second intervals.

Woman first to start (from older age groups to younger), followed by older men age groups.

Youngest men will be the last to depart.

The race course will be not accessible to riders after 8am.

Turbo trainers will be available at the start from 7.30am, for max time of 20 minutes per rider.

Drafting is forbidden; any riders not obeying this rule will be disqualified.

When overtaking a rider, you must ensure a distance of 2m separates both riders, and the overtaken rider must the leave a gap of 25m behind the passing rider.

 

TEAM RELAY

Friday 16th September

This is not an official World Championships event, it is open to all athletes who are registered for the time trial and/or Gran Fondo/Medio Fondo.

The course is inside the new quartier “Le Albere”. Each rider will complete 3 laps of a 2km circuit, before passing the relay to the next rider of the team.

Distance: 2 km

Start location and finish line: Corso del Lavoro e della Scienza – Trento

Riders brief: 16th September, 2pm – Race Village

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

Riders can enter as a complete team or as an individual rider wishing to join a team. To submit a team or an individual entry, please email the following information to info@ucigranfondoworldseries.com :

·       for 4-person teams: nationality, full name of each rider, date of birth of each rider, email of the team leader.

·       For riders who want to form a team with other participants: nationality, full name, date of birth, email.

Note: best endeavors will be made to assist individuals in joining a team but their participation cannot be guaranteed.

Deadline: all teams and individuals must submit their entry via email before September 1st.

If all 25 teams will be not filled by 1st September, on-site registrations will also be possible on Friday 16th September.

 

GRAN FONDO AND MEDIO FONDO

Sunday 18th September

Road race passes through the beautiful territory of the Trento district, with its seven lakes, its mountains, the fascinating historical sites and the breathtaking landscapes.

Gran Fondo distance: 143.8 km

Elevation gain: 3.900 m

Medio Fondo distance: 86.8 km               

Elevation gain: 2.218 m

Start location: Via Roberto da Sanseverino, Palazzo delle Albere – Trento

Finish line: Piazza delle Donne Lavoratrici – Trento

Riders brief: 17th September, 2pm – Race Village

VERY IMPORTANT: the starting grids will be open 30 minutes before the start of each group. The first row of each start group is reserved for the age group winners of the qualifier events and defending world champions, who will be able to access the first row from the sidewalk 7 minutes before their respective start.

ROAD USE RULES

Please note that between the vehicle of “STARTING RACE” and the one of “END OF RACE” (broom wagon) there will be an hour of complete traffic stop in both directions during MEDIO FONDO and GRAN FONDO. All athletes overtaken by the “END OF RACE” car must be aware that from that moment on the road will be open to normal vehicular traffic. Athletes must therefore observe traffic laws, keeping very carefully their right and respecting every road signage and each runner is required to remove the race number.

 

FEED ZONES (Tbc)

Feed zones will be located at the following locations:

  • KM 30 in Viote (Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo)
  • KM 75 in Candriai (Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo)
  • KM 84 in Vason (Gran Fondo only)
  • KM 132 in Candriai (Gran Fondo only)

From 50m before those locations up to 50m after there will be a green zones where to throw waste accumultated during the race. Riders are not allowed to throw any waste out of the green zone.

Time penalties will be given to all riders not respecting gate rule.
