Charly Gaul Uphill Time Trial powered by Sportler

The UCI Gran Fondo World Championships 2022, to be held from September 15th to 18th in Trento, Italy, enrich their program with a side event dedicated to non-qualified athletes. It’s the Charly Gaul Uphill Time Trial powered by Sportler, a 13,6 km and 1048 mt elevation gain route starting from Sardagna to Vason and retracing the exploit of the Luxembourgian athlete who left an indelible mark on the mountain symbol of Trento cycling during the 1956 Giro D’Italia.

The very first edition of this appointment will see the light on Saturday, September 17th, with the first rider starting at 6 p.m. CEST. Registrations for the side event start Monday, June 20th, until Saturday, September 17th, unless all available race numbers are sold out. The registration fee is €25.00 until August 31st and €40.00 from September 1st.

Athletes who are not members of any sports association are also allowed to participate in the time trial, upon presentation of a valid competitive cycling medical certificate. For the latter, a daily card from the Italian Cycling Federation will be activated for insurance coverage at a cost of €10.00.

Non-Italian athletes will be required to present a medical health certificate, which can be downloaded from the event’s official website and must be duly signed and stamped by a doctor.
